Hi all. I am brand new to these cars but i have neen flying copters for about 4 months. I know nothing about the micro dt yet. Today I started going over the parts list and diagram so that I can learn what the parts are. Ive had about 25 runs on my truck. Most on smooth pavement but a few on rug. I went out for a run yesterday and noticed that it kept wanting to go left even when i adjusted the trim. I only got about 4 minutes on a fresh charge. There is no hair or threads wrapped around the axles but the back wheel do not want to move. I can spin them but they are real tight. What should I check first as Im pretty disgusted right now. I only ad the thing for a week and already it is giving me hearburn. I had to go through this process with my copters. Im not very handy so i need a real easy explanation on what i can do to fix this. Im still trying to figure out how to get the wheels off the thing. I didnt even have it long enough to but threaded axles or bareings. If anybody can give me some guidance so that i can get back on the road i really would appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey there stuff.Try looking where the prob is first. Look for the obvious. You did, no hair or carpet fibers wedged in there along the drive train. The wheels are held on with some PITA C-clips that will drive you insane.I use a exato blade to pop them off with a baggy over the rim and tire so when they pop off they stay in the bag. getting them back on is another story. That is why we all go threaded and bearing cause the shaft riding in the plastic bearings is where the friction is the worst. And I could smack the guy who put those clips on there. You can try a drop of lube or oil on the axel first before you take it all apart. Also if you don't feel comfortable doin it go by the LHS and ask for some help.Worst case is the tranny has tightend up on you.But that usually take a lipo and a bl motor to do that.Might be something simple as well. If I didn't have a magnify/light on my table I would not have a micro,I would have tossed it. I found mine at Harbor Frieght for $12.Well that is about all I can think of right now. Feel free to drop me a line if need be.l8r,wrench.

Thanks Wrench, Ill give it a try and let you know. Man I checked out your vids and really enjoyed them alot. I hardly know what your doing and I think the only one Im gonna try is the thing you did with the plastic clips for the hood pin. I think I could do that one. The family is out and I just got in and read this. Im gonna do a little relaxation and than try to figure out how to take the wheels off. I figure I was going to do the threaded axles and the steel bearings at some point anyway so now that shes down I might as well do it now. I think the parts are pretty cheap. It will also give me the chance to start really learning about the basic stuff of a car. It doesnt get more basic than wheels.I learn more from watching and doing. I think thats whay I like your vids so much. I guess you woulnt waiste your time doing such basic stuff. I mean the deatls you concentrate on are sick. Down to tires. Sick tires dude. Anyway thanks for the info. If you can think of anything else let me know. Always happy to listen.

If ya get a moment to look at your micro try to losen all the screws that hold the tranny halves together. I have found many a trannies that were to tight from the factory and binding up the diff. a turn loser may do the trick.

Thanks I will try that when I try to install metal threaded axles. I have not touched the truck since the problem. Ive been getting my copters ready for out doors. I do not have the inclination to work on this car at all yet. I actually know zero about it and just looking at it these days is not good. I probably wont work on it for a while if ever as i dont know where to begin . I need to know how to store the stock battery. I probably wont use it until I sell it but i want to store it correctly. Should I drain it and remove it from the car? Please let me know as it will not see the light of day for a while and I dont want to ruin it. .

Dude don't give up. That is why we are here. You need a how2 then it can be arranged. Hell toss that puppy in a box. I'll once over it and toss it back at ya.lol Just let us know what all you need.I would store the battery at full charge. If t gets a memory of say 60 percent then it will not charge past that. Then just top it off right before you run it. l8r,w.

Hey Wrench I'm too stupid and stubborn to quit. Today I had a little time so I decided to mess with the d-t. I bought steel threaded axles and a bearing kit. Finally got the front 2 c-clips off after much irritation and now I am kinda lost. Even something this simple confuses me. A good indication of my lack of intellegence. Anyway where the f do the front bearings go ? I cant tell Do they go in the wheel or what?I have no f-ing idea. I do see t2 screws on the part that the axle is on. Do I undo them to slide the old axle out? Is it the same procedure for the rear wheels? Once i figure this out Im going to back those screws out a little ,like you said in an earlier post and see if the thing will run at all. If not I will either get rid of it or have some fun smashing it to bits for you-tube.Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, count to ten, breath relax, to install the front bearings you first need to pke the little black bushings out of the front wheels, the hole where the axles go thru then the bearings will replace them.to remove the front axle you must remove the king pin, ( the screw that goes directly down thru the front knuckle. then the axle just pulls out.) See pretty simple when ya ask, Pleeeeeeeeeeease no U Tube smashing little truck vids.

Hey Stuff; relaxe like fast said. So here are few pics to go with his words.HtH.l8r,w.

Pop off the eclips into eternity so you never see them again it'll be to soon.Damb Chinese.lol

Image

Next slide the wheel off.Pop out the black plastic bushings and replace with new fastenuff bearings.lol

Image

Then loosen the screw that holds the kingpin in place. It is a micro philips head.Damb Chinese.

Image

Now slide the old one out and the new one in.Thank you LHS.Life is now good.

Image

Now just screw your rims on snug but freespining.Enjoy longer run times.Ram fill in.

Image

Next repeat in the rear but the bearings go in the hub not the wheels.Take off the eclip and rims again. Then remove the top screw from the rear hub and tilt the hub away and slide the drive shaft out. Then replace bushings with bearing and button it back up tight.Off you go.

Image

There you go a step by step. Now go "get er done".

You two guys are awesome. I did loosen the 3 screws as suggested and that worked perfect. Now the ting is running aagin. I did mange to change over the front axles but the rear still has those @#&33@5 e-clips. Thanks for the pictures. Im gonna sign in later and try the bearings and back axle again. I really had to box it and put it in my closet for 2 days so that i woulnt slam it against the wall until it was dust just like my 5 year old daughter would do. Yes its true and i admit that this little truck temprarily turned me into a 5 year old. Thanks for reponding to my mcro e-clip rants. You guys are freakin incredible. Thanks again. Ill let you know if i manage to finish what i started.I have been happy just having it running good again thanks to the 3 screw method.

Hey wrench. great shots . I did manage to get one of the rear wheels off. The other one is not looking good right now, I beat the crap out of the hub with my smallest screwdrivers . The first one just popped off into oblivion and i was bummed cause i wanted to pulverize it and send it to losi. The other one refuses to come off. I mean i can hardly see what im doing with this thing. i dont even really know if im in the right spot. Anyway im thinking maybe i can cut it off with my dremmel. i wont be needing that axle anymore . Is this doable. Cause i refuse to try this again. im pretty close to throwing in the towel with this little #@%^#. :rambo
