It doesn't fit right and the body is steel, haha. I was thinking once I get the vacuum former working I could make a styrene copy and lower it down. Reminded me of the savages with car bodies, like the cuda body is a popular one. I've always loved the 66, 67 GTO. Wish they made a 10th scale lexan one.

Parma I think made one some years back. Doubt you'd be able to find one now though, and if you did they would probably want an arm and a leg for it.

I saw JIA(writes for RC Driver) start a drag car build and had a lexan body but seems like it was an older company. It's a shame though, one of the best looking muscle cars in my opinion.

I was in Lowes getting some hardware and had an idea. Not really mine, I've seen someone do this to mount a body before. Anyway, nylon hardware to make a battery hold down. Wingnuts are quick and easy to spin on and off, nylon weighs nothing, and it's different. I think I'll need a smaller size for body clearance and clearance with the steering, but it's a first attempt.

Finally did something with this ols TLT body I had laying around. I still need to trim the body posts and maybe the front bumper for spring clearance. I was playing around with white and orange posterboard to see which showed better for pics of a white body. Anyway, here it is, the TLT-Ferret.

Thanks, been meaning to mount it up for a while now. Also it will look meaner when I put the tires off that Redcat Vortex on there, something just over 3" tall I think.

I figured you would like it Sav. It also is taller so I can fit the 10-cell nimh or taller lipos when I go to buy some. The buggy body was fairly restrictive on size.

Do these tires make my butt look fat?

Turning is overrated.

First update in a while since this thing is done in my mind. Got some lipos and charger so tested out the new 3s 1500 in the ferret today. Awesome is the best word to describe it. I love the setup, weight, even the body without a wing to break when you flip. Now the bad news. I wasn't paying attention and apparently the esc got hot, really hot. It stuttered, then a puff of magic smoke. I ran over thinking the lipo cutoff malfunctioned and my toy may be bursting into flames at any moment. Shut it off but the batter was a cucumber. The ESC however is stinky. I'll take the heat shrink off later and see if I can diagnose. I'm no electrical engineer so it's hard to say what I'll be able to do. It's a cheapo so nowhere to send it to, just replace. It's a shame too, cause that was the most fun with a mini I've ever had, was even getting "3-wheel motion" when doing donuts, till it would flip over.

Well, I opened her up and have come to the conclusion that repair is beyond me. 4 of the 18 little black squares, think they're called FETS, are blackened. I think I'll just get another $10 cheapy that has no reverse, which suits my driving style with this thing anyway. Full throttle, forward, go till something lets loose, haha. That's the way you drive your cheapest basher right?

Some cheap plane esc, which is rated higher amps. It was my own stupid fault so I can't complain. Was having so much fun that I put off checking temps. The higher amp speedo should cool it down some right? I'd also like to toss a fan on both motor and esc. Need some fans on my 1/10 brushless setup as well. Just like with 1:1 rigs, more power means more heat and ya gotta deal with it. I traded Hojin for almost 3 full vehicles of this cheapo. Some would have build more than one vehicle, I just boxed the parts and plan to have fun till I run out, haha.
