Mine doesn't seem that fast but I guess I'm spoiled from the Brushless in the F18.

Faster than I expected a stock radoishack toy to be. Though pretty comparable to the stock rc18 I owned for a couple weeks.

So, I got my HobbyKing order in and got the replacement brushless speedo. I burnt the old one up in my Ferret, which may have been to heavy for this setup. Anyway I went with a $10 air speedo that only has forward. I'm thinking it might train me to drive better if I have no reverse. Plus you can't use reverse in racing right? So this speedo is higher capacity too, 40A cont. and 50A max. It has heat sinks on both sides and I added a big heat sink from an old computer on top of that. It will require a new body to fit over the speedo, buggy won't work. Here's a couple pics of the size I'm working with. Any suggestions on bodies? I like the losi bug, bronco, and the pti jeep. Not sure how those would look on this though.

I love the PTI jeep, and that body would probably look awesome on that rig. :thumb

CA glue will let go when this thing gets hot won't it? I used CA on that extra heat sink, to attach it to the ESC.

Oh yeah, in case anyone was wondering why I have extra ball ends in my shock mounts, it's so I can swap in longer socks to go from street to offroad quickly.

Looking good jamus. I like the shock tower idea alot. I would have to say the bronco body if it were me. Is it a bit top heavy like that? CA might get a bit brittle when it gets hot and pop off on you. I used some serious double sided heat tape on my RC18R cause it kept falling off. Thanks for the update.l8r,w.

So does that esc even have brakes? Most airplane speed controls don't.

Yup, but brakes aren't a default. So I had to reprogram it a little. I hate listening for a certian beep-boop.

Yeah programming by beeps and boops is a tedious job. Very cool that it has brakes though.

So I'm thinking of extending the chassis and slapping a lexan lunchbox body on this thing. How bad will it hurt aerodynamically at 30-35 mph?

Well upon further inspection of the chassis I really don't want to mess with the chassis. The bottom half of the diff housing is part of the chassis, which makes it difficult to modify. Now I'm looking at RC18T bodies. Have any of you seen anyone use the DP Geepers body? I posted on toys in the DP section and haven't seen any response. I like the body since it's unique, looks like a Jeep Cherokee. That or the JConcepts one, I like the curved roof on it. There's also the Exotek Kuda.

I haven't seen the Geepers body anywhere except for the pic at toyz. I do like that body though. The JConcepts 18T Illuzion lid is also awesome, and is one of the best looking ST or Truggy bodies available in my opinion.

That's what I like about the HobbyWing ESC's. An $8 program card or $20 program box if you want USB connectivity and you never have to count the beeps again.

I did some maintenance and upgrades on my Pro-Pulse last night. The rear diff ring gear was literally melted into two pieces. It now has all AE parts in the rear diff. The Pro-Pulse upgrade threaded shocks are identical to the AE FT shocks BTW.

Good to know about the shocks. Definitely worth the $2 per set I payed, haha. I run fronts all the way around in lowrider street mode. Then i swap in rears all the way around for offroad.
