Any of you Michigan RC junkies have some place you'll be racing your minis this winter? Anybody know if Grand Blanc Hobby Town will be holding indoor races this year? Anybody interested in organizing or helping to organize some indoor 1/18 1/16 racing? Myself and several others I know are looking for some place to get some track action going. Last winter Action RC had a pretty good thing going, but sadly they did not stay in business. :cry My brother in law and I are willing to do our share to get something off the ground, but we need input from other racers. If need be we can work out arrangements for a club type race once or twice a month at a local hall that we can rent for a few hours every other week or so. I know a few of us have already agreed to help fund the materials necessary to build a large RCP or Ozite track if it comes down to it. Just need some place to race, and I know with enough interest we can get it going. :thumb

Right on, so next friday 6:30 Grand Mall main entrance? They gonna allow the 1/16 Slash rigs? That's what Dan wants to buy, so just want to let him know if he'll be able to run it or not.

heres all I know;
Quote;
This is about racing R/C cars indoors on a foam track. Small scale cars/trucks required, e.g. 1/18, 1/16 & 1/32. Electricity for charging batteries provided; bring and extension cord and/or power strip. Also, pit table and chair(s) are the racer's responsibility.

$10.00/night or $20.00 w/rental car. Family plans available!!!

There will be a novice class for beginners. Cars will be available to rent.

A lap counter will be set up to impartially score races. Cars must be able to accept an RF transponder... fairly straightforward for current, name-brand equipment.

Initially racing is for "bragging rights"... although HobbyTown USA tends to be fairly supportive.

Perfect, that's all I needed to know. We'll be there. You better get something ready to run, so we can at least have a decent group. :rc
