I've been receiving a lot of emails from this site to come back, I've been busy with school and all so I usually just drop by and browse. Well, I just finished my exams and I'd thought I'd show you guys my new additions!

Other than that, I've started a "TAMIYA-THON" on my blog where I will talk about a Tamiya in my collection everyday. Check it out if you like Tamiya RC's!

That's awesome, I really love the re-release of the YJ and I'm not even a Jeep fan.

I saw some vids of the Hummer and it made me really want one. The one in the vids had locked diffs and 35t motor. It also had a GI Joe or some other army action figure mounted in the roof turret with an M-60 and some other scale accessories.

...here's one of the vids:

Not that the YJ isn't good, I like it too, but I like the Humvee a little more.

Never let a private drive, haha. Dude in the turret needs a .50.

Nice video. That's the same chassis that I'm using on my K5 Blazer scale project. I plan a 65T lathe for some slower trail riding. I like the lack of travel, compared to a crawler, seems more realistic to me. The average rig on the trails i see doesn't have 90 degrees of articulation.

It looks like his diffs are still open, though I could be mistaken. Lock the diffs and get some softer compound 1.9 tires and the thing would really surprise people, the the G8 1.9 Flatirons.

Thanks all, I haven't decided if I would build them or not when I posted. But after seeing that youtube vid, I think I will build them now haha

I am looking at some aftermarket tires for these trucks too, but most of them requires a lift and mod to the body/chassis. Anyone know any direct swap without modding soft compound tires?

RC4wd has a lot of scale looking 1.9 tires but looks like most are 4" or more. The stock HMMWV tires are only 3.5". The 1.9 flatirons ar larger too. Have you heard of the trail doc tires? They are made overseas, look like a super swamper tread, and come in many different compounds. If you went with a different size rim you may fit some of RC4WD's new 1.55 scale tires.

Here's a few good HMMWV pics I had saved.

Thanks Jamus, I'll look into the 1.55 tires. Those pics are awesome! I like the second one the best.

So you like the really scale look then? In that case maybe look into the trail docs(doctors). The US Army overseas have some HMMWV's with super swamper TSL SX tires on them, though I don't know how they cleared that with their supply chain, haha. I found this when I searched.
http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/proart/pau35019.htm

The stock tires are both Goodyears, either the older 36x12.50(what comes with the Tamiya kit) or the new 37x12.50 MT which I've never seen an RC tire that resembles it.

This might be useful for tire selection as well.

from left:
Pro-Line Dirt Hawg (2.2 size)
Tamiya Pajero tire
Losi Rock Basher
RC4WD Prowler XS
SDI Trail Doctor
Tamiya Rock Cruiser MT (High Lift)
RC4WD Rock Creepers
RC4WD Mud Thrashers
RC4WD Out Croppers
SDI Trail Doctor XL
RC4WD Rock Crusher M/T

The "Tamiya Pajero tire" has the same dimensions as your HMMWV tires for size reference.

Thanks Jamus for the comparson. I am going to try my F350 tires on the car first too see if it works first, if it does then I can see into the other tire choices.
