I got a line on one of these. I know it's discontinued but does anyone know anything more about it? Good or bad? It's a belt driven design and has some things I've never seen on other TCs, centered motor and battery for one.

I think you guys are right and I'll let it pass. I had an old RS4 MT and got rid of it due to being old/discontinued and having a belt-drive. So if I got this car I'd probably be putting myself back in the same boat.

dont listen to these guys about belts :saber

they are jaded! j/k

anyway. i have had a belt driven TA05 for 2 years, and pebbles and Chit it the belts ruining things is a myth. just doesnt happen to me, and all i do is bask around with pebbles and everything else. belt vs shaft is all preference. with shaft you WILL get torque steer. with belt , you wont. shaft appear to have better acceleration, but not noticable unless you are a professional.

just go with what you have get, the belt wont hurt you at all for bashing or speed runs up and down the street. belts are actually a great deal less stress on the drive train, the only gears are the pinion and spur, but with the shafties, count them yourself. two per axles plus the spur and pinion.

in the end it really is up to you though.

Well it's not really a good deal either. I've been thinking I may just stretch my KMI to about a 10" wheelbase and slap a 190mm body on top. The KMI already has so many nice parts, all it really needs is a set of those 1/10 adapters and stub shafts. I run TC sized tires on the KMI and tamtech all the time anyway, so no more stress than usual. Just a lot more wheelbase and a huge body(relative to 18 scale) that would cover the wheels. Would make a pretty good rally car too I think.
