HYPER MINIS

While cruising down the road on our way to work the other day we passed a garage sale that had a few things out front that caught my brothers eye, so we turned around so that he could check out an engine they had. Well lucky me, but as soon as I walked into the garage I noticed a bright red Kyosho bag sitting at the end of one of their tables. Upon closer inspection this is what I found. The price they had on it said $20, so I started inspecting the whole package a little more closely, and while it was certainly worth every penny of the $20 they wanted I was a few dollars short of the asking price, so I asked if they would take $15, and after he thought about it for a few seconds, this is what I walked out of there with.







Once I got home and had a chance to go over things a little more thoroughly I realized just how nice a score it was. Not only was the vehicle complete, and pretty clean for being so old, but everything worked perfectly including the old charger and battery packs that were down in the bag along with a 90% complete sticker sheet. The only thing that isn't original is the wheels and tires, but the HPI wheels and old spiked tires don't look too bad IMO.

Looks cool, but I don't know what it is. I like the Trar body though.

It's a Kyosho Hi Rider, from the 80's. It's built on the same chassis as the Big Brute, Double Dare etc, but came with different wheels/tires and body.

Yeah, always hate the guy who finds a bruiser for $10. All the sales around here ever have is baby clothes and toys. I guess that tells what the most popular pasttime around here is huh?

I come across RC only on very rare occasions, but I do find them from time to time. About 5 years ago I scored an original Grasshopper, and an original Clod for $5 each. This is the first hobby class RC I've found since then. I'm not sure yet what I'm gonna do with this Sav. I'll hang onto it for a while at least, just cause it looks cool sitting on the shelf next to the Blackfoot. I was amazed that it was all Kyosho, and even more amazed that once I put batts in the TX and truck it all worked. My room mate and I ran the 2 together out in the backyard the other day, and it was hilarious. I should have gotten some vid of it.

I've run it out in the back yard, but I won't make a habit of it. Too scared to break something lol. It's pretty much just gonna see shelf duty. That's true Wrench. You can't ever have too many.
