Howdy all. Ive been having a blast with my cheapo. But all things must end. I dont think the tx is able to initialize with the car anymore.I always turn the tx on before the car. Usually there are some beeps and than it connects. It still connects but it loses the signal within 30 seconds. Than if I switch the tx off and on it reinitializes and runs for a few sconds and than stops. Is this an esc problem or what else could it be?I cnat seem to find parts for this thing. If i need an esc i dont want to spend alot of money to get it running again as I would rather spend money on my slash or my vendettas as I just added a vendetta ts to my growing collection. Im also still aiting for my vendetta st hich tower just shipped today.Any suggestions ould be very welcome as Im trying to use the exceed as a learning tool so tha ti ill have more knowledge hen i start needing to do work on my other vehicles even though the slash looks like an a different creature due to the design of it.

check the wires! I had a china cheapo that the wires would break just outside the solder joint. the speedo would boot up then shut down. give a little tug on the conectors and see if a wire falls off. good luck

No wires seem to be broken. I see that the esc runs under the lid into the servo it seems. How do I remove the esc from the servo. Will there be soldering involved in a replacement. I cnat believe the esc fried so quick but hat should I expect from a car i bought on the streets of NYC for 20.00. I guess Im now in the market for a CHEAP esc. I need to figure out here to get one as there is practically no support for this product.

Attached to the servo? You sure it isn't just taped on top of it? ESC for the mini's are pretty cheap since they don't require too many amps. Here's a cheap one that's probably got more than enough to run a mini.

I've ordered recievers and crystals from there and if memory serves, shipping wasn't terrible.

I was wrong. It connects to the reciever module. It looks real simple to replace as there are connectors to the battery that seem pretty universal. The one you posted is a great price. Is it a drop in type thing or would i need to change connectors or something. Even so for the money it is orth a shot. The only thing is that it is connected to the on/off switch so I ill need to replace the on/off switch unless its ok to use a little electric tape on it. I did find the esc at nitrorcx for 30.00. But they of course are not in stock. Im not savvy enough with rc like most of you to figure out what else might fit so ive just gotta wait for the original part. But I think Im gonna try the one you sudggested cause its cheap enough. By the way janus thanks for your responses to all my NOObie questions in all of my nOObie threads. How did you find that esc. I as looking all over the place and coulnt come up ith an alternative to the real one. I guess I have much to learn.

No problem, everyone needs a hand, especially starting out. Luckily you haven't asked anything terribly hard, cause I don't know a lot either. I just visit a lot of RC forums and somewhere along the line was directed to that place for some cheap recievers. I looked around and found those brushed ESC, which are very small by the way. By the dimensions, that ESC is smaller than the stock Ferret ESC, which I assume is the same, or at least similar, to your Exceed one. Does your ESC look like the one in this pic? Not my pic by the way, but my ESC looks identical.

That car looks almost exactly like the Exceed. Im going to oprder that esc and take a shot. Its funny but I also have found stuff through thread links and such. I know most of these forums are dead now as I visit a few including Beat My Truck. But I really like this site as the moderaters are real helpful and I have not been edited or banned yet. I did once get banned from rc universe for a stupid rant about an mcx copter I as having trouble with. About 1 month after the ban i was missing the site so I sent an e-mail to the administration. They sent me a copy of the post I was banned for. It was embarresing. I wrote back and apologized, told them how embarrising it was to read and told them that it was very bad and I would have banned me too. I apologized again. Than I recieved an e-mail and they lifted the ban. No more nasty rants. I learned that these forums are not for that. Thanks for your help. The next thing I am going to work on is the ability to post up pics and vids. I never learned how to do that but I really want to show my stuff. Plus sometimes a picture is orth a thousand words.
