I recently started to build a R18 and have a few questions. I will be racining on Ozite carpet. Will the new 6 degree C hubs from Exotek make a difference? Is a spool a good idea or should use a one diff in the front? Does anyone make a more ridged set of a arms? Thanks for the help.

the RPM arms are probably your best bet because they are plastic and very light. i would also say that you dont need to get new arms. the stock arms are plenty strong for my application.

i was just looking at the new c-hubs. they look like they would increase the agility and control during power on and power off driving.

If you are wanting to change the arms for durability, I would say don't bother. The stockers are plenty tough. If you are wanting to change them because you want less flex, then you will have to go with aluminum. RPM does not yet have arms available for the RC18R.

I think I will try the stock arms first, more aluminum will just cause something else to break. I did order the new c hubs and hub carriers from exotek today. My first race with it will be on Nov. 8th. I will be racing with some of the new Vendetta TC's so this will be a fun race. Thanks for the help

No problem man, and welcome to the board. Sounds like you are going to have a great time. I should be going up against some Detta TC's next weekend myself. I'm looking forward to it.

I have an R18 conversion (truck instead of R) and built it with the Exotek hubs and knuckles. First off this chassis is dialed compared to the other stock rc18's I have. I cant say that the Exotek suspension pieces are the reason as the chassis is just so sweet, but I am not going to dare change anything since this thing handles so well. I have thought about going with a spool up front per Mike (at Exotek's) recommended setup.

spooling up the front really lowers your braking ability, yet increases corner speed on entry. I myself dont like the spool. Although I hate to admitt it the rconvertion should kill the detta tc. It makes it compairable to the recoil
