My SC18 came in yesterday but I came down with the flu, so I had to wait to get someone to bring it to me. I finally got my hands on it this afternoon and had a chance to give it a once over. First off, it is a little longer wheelbase than the previous models. The belt drive system and the gear diffs give it a whole different sound, smoother sounding. The new steering looks to be a huge improvement as well. There is a tiny bit of slop, but nothing like the old system. The pictures I have seen on the net did not show if the SC18 would share the slipper clutch as the new T2/B2, but it IS included on the SC18. Here are a few pics:

And a great little surprise is that the 2200 Flightmax batteries fit right in without any mods:

I cant wait to get some tracktime with this new layout. I will report back as I do.

That is the french version.

Actually seeing this pic of it, I'm really glad I got the Slash instead. Looks to wide and short at least the front end looks funny. Maybe it is better in person.

You took that wrong, not comparing then anyway in size. Talking about looks, the front end on the SC18 just doesn't look right to me. To much front fender or something, might look better in person. The Slash just has the better scale look to it to me. But it isn't any worse then the Rs.

Go buy one, and then we can compare.lol

No offense or putting down was taken, would be interesting seeing them side by side to see differnces. By the pics it also looks wider besides longer, then the older shaft drive style.

I had a chance to today to take it to our local carpet track (36x80, pretty technical in the infield). I put a 2200 2S Lipo in the truck and everything else is stock except for a Spektrum RX. This thing rips! handling even with the stock tires is really good. It will traction roll if you push it too hard, but it will surprise you. Speed is good (especially with the Lipo) and run time seems like forever. After the first pack, I swapped out the stock SC tires for some regular RC18R rubber tires on white rims. I cleaned and doped them with Jack the Gripper and this helped handling even more. Even the LHS owner was surprised at how well the steering system worked over the previous system. Another new SC18 owner showed up and we ran for several laps on the carpet track and he was as shocked as I was at how well the stock tires worked. I swapped the stock body back and its a great look with the R tires. If you are looking for something that will run great out of the box, the SC18 is a great buy. I see Associated selling a BUNCH of these for spec racing.

I also painted up an Exotek GTZ body for it:

I plan on leaving it brushed for now, but will swap in a Tekin B1 speed control and tune the shocks to see what all I can get out of the mostly stock platform. If we can get a mod class going, I will probably drop in brushless system in it.

Plus looks a lot better in person than in the pics. Still front fender/hood needs help, cab back looks nice.

The Fox body does look nice, something like that instead of factory graphics makes the hood/fender are look nicer, at least for me.

i think it blurs the body lines. ever seen the *masked cars* new 1:1 models it changes things so u cant get pics of the new models.
