Radioshack has put the Pro Pulse truck and buggy on clearance for $50. These have many similarities to the RC18 series and should take most of the available replacement parts, but remember there are many differences as well. You should get 4 free accessories as well with purchase.

UPDATE:
I got a FREE Pro-Pulse today from a cool Radioshack Manager. It is supposedly non-functional, but we'll see about that. I was picking up some tires and aluminum shocks to use with other vehicles and he said I could have it. Pics to come shortly... The only thing that I can see is wrong with it on sight is a broken transmitter antenna. I just got a chance to test it and it appears to run ok. Not bad out the door for $23 for all this stuff.

No luck for me, even though both stores showed inventory from their online check, both were out of stock. Oh well...

How bad would shipping be to order online? Or have them order it through your local store maybe?

Out of stock online, but that is ok. If I run into one, that's fine. But otherwise I am not that worried about it.

Oh, and the dual motors and oil shocks did not count as the free accessories anyway. They are still $25 a piece.

hmmm, interesting. I might have to swing into a couple of local radioshacks.... (although it seems most I vaguely remember around here have probably gone out of business since I was last there, as with most everything else in the mitten these days... d'oh!)

Might be a nice basher for guests, or even a gift for a needy friend if that ever comes up. Also just simply curious to see how many parts from an RC18b really are interchangeable.

Guys remember it is a knock off! after reading this post i went and looked at one yesterday, It is very simelar to the 18t but ther are lots of differences too. I would hate to see a newbie buy one up, and not be able to get the correct parts and give up the sport out of flustration.

Oh yeah, I thought that was covered but it must have been in the chatbox and not actually posted. That's one downside of the chatbox, things get discussed there and it's hard to remember to bring important parts back into the threads for permanent posting.

thats ok guys, I didn't take ityou were saying it was the same. I was at the track a few weeks ago when a kid came to the shop looking for parts, that was my first exposur to the little bugger. he got his working with asscociated parts but it was alot of work, he also bought several parts to make the convertion work. They shure do look alike though

Yeah, that's why I was curious to see one in person... and was wondering what and how many parts from an RC18 would actually bolt up without intense modification.

I did swing by a radioshack today... none of these there.

The stupid battery charger takes 10 hours. I think I will have to cut the end off the charger and use it in my peak charger. It has what appears to be a mini-Tamiya plug. I also do not understand why they use a split pack when a normal stick pack would work fine. I also found that I am missing the battery strap and the hardware that goes with it. I will have to see if the RC18 strap will work for it.

Well, I checked and it appears that the RC18 strap would work, but I am also missing the rear mounting post on the Pro-Pulse and the RC18 ones are not removable.

That should be a relatively easy thing to fabricate yourself though, so that's not too big a deal. Good to know though that the straps in interchangeable.

I was able to fabricate a battery strap post using an old antenna mount and it works. Now I am able to use the strap from the RC18. I am happy that I got a Dremel tool for Christmas. The Harbor Freight rotary tool just wasn't cutting it (pun intended).

Apparently it can run dual motors and the gap in the split pack allows space for the 2nd motor.
I read this in a thread on another forum... http://rcfanatics.net/forum/showthread. ... =pro+pulse (pack info is on page 2).

Hey, spliffnwesson, that does makes sense. As there is room for the split 2 cell part on the other sides of the chassis and there is a cutout in the chassis for another motor. Your link is broken though, if you can fix it I would appreciate it because I am interested in reading more about it. Thanks.
