What kind of suspension are you running on these things? I have the 3-Racing shocks on. The oil, pistons, and springs are whatever came in them stock. So what guys do you recommend using in terms of these items? I definitely have to get shock oil. I'd like to try to turn the stock push/understeer setup into a neutral or loose/slight oversteer setup if possible.

And what size are the stock hexes?

Stock hexes are 10mm and you can get 12mm ones either from the GT01 or aftermarket. As for shocks, no clue but I run the 3-racing ones as well.

Thanks!

Now can anybody else give me input on the suspension? I'm sure there are a few guys on here who have nice setups. Or did everybody on this site give up on these things like the people on other sites have seemed to? :(

Set-ups are kind of a personal thing, top secret, and you don't have enough contributing posts here yet to qualify. :wink :cheese :drool

LOL

Well I don't race so I'm not trying to steal secrets. I doubt anybody races TamTech GB-01s anymore either so I doubt people are keeping many secrets with these cars.

Well then you don't really have any need for custom "set-ups," anything should do. Set-ups are for racing. Try some things, you'll be fine.

Yeah, I've run the 3Racing shocks, as well as the GPM, the Square Racing, and the Tamiya alu. and the plastic Tamiya's, what do they call them, the CV something.

Out of all of them, I actually like the chinese ones the best, the 3Racing and the GPM's. The Tamiya alu. ones are very nice, but hard to keep consistent from my experience.

Try adding a half-oz at a time to the front of the chassis if you want some more planted front wheels.

and TAMTECHS WILL NEVER DIE!!!! :tamiya I love these things, and have a few friends who do as well. We rip them at a few places around here regularly recently, and still get a few people each time asking what they are.

I just got the 3Racing units and put them on my GB02. This won't mean much since I haven't even run it yet, but I put in 25wt/front 45wt/rear. Seems like a good starting point. Middle-hole mount for lower shock end on rear arms, default hole for upper shock mount. No mount hole choices for the front on the GB02 ;)

I'll post up when she's done. Got a few more things to do still, Blue turnbuckles, motor mount, alu. outdrives, Graupner install. I did paint the shiny silver wheels a bit... those look tight, maybe I'll post a teaser of just those ;)

Tasty! Wheels do look great in that small photo!

You got the new blue scheme lid, huh? I see that Tamiya is at least still keeping up some interest in the TamTech line with the addition of that at least...

Yeah I got the blue one. It was hard to find the orange one. With all the blue hop ups around it should look pretty cool in the end.

Just ordered the 3racing steering servo saver for the gt01. I heard it was a better fit than the one made for gb01

I dremeled my steering servo to fit the GB-02 and not hit the shocks.
