I changed my order at tower and am getting the ST instead of the Buggy as it seemed more solid. Is it a good truck.Anybody run one? Im still waiting for it but i have an exceed 1 16 truggy to run in the mean time. Ive gotta say for a cheapo rc im am having a freakin blast. I dont think the vendetta st or the bl slash i ordered ill be more fun to drive. Im practicing ith the exceed and hope not to crash as much ith the others. I am getting the hang of it. What a blast.

I think I just like the looks of the st better. The front looks more durable for the crashes I will have. I also ordered a duratrax charger

IntelliPeak AC/DC
Twin Pulse Charger

Save $10.00
Now $49.99
LW8367

Reach your Peak...
...with the DuraTrax IntelliPeak AC/DC Twin Pulse Charger - it's like having two independent chargers in one. Users can charge 6-7 cell NiCd or NiMH packs alone, together or one after another. Includes fused overload/thermal/reverse polarity protection and a 5-year limited warranty.

IT comes with a standard connector. I think i will need adapters for the vendetta battery and the slash battery. Do they make adapters as i want the abilty to charge all of my different batteries. Im pretty ne so I dont know much about chargers and stuff but i figured i needed a decent one at this point.

There are adapters available for just about every battery type. I'm not real sure which plugs the DTX vehicles come with stock, so I can't say right off which adapter you will need. I'll go educate myself a bit, and then post a link to the adapter you'll want.

This is the adapter you will need. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wt ... LXUUR8&P=M Although I highly recommend changing all of your plugs to Deans. If you're not comfortable soldering new plugs on, your LHS will do it for you for a couple dollars. Just take all your packs, your charger, and your rigs with you and tell them you'd like it all switched to Deans. They will know what to do.

I am not comfortable at all soldering at this point. I just dropped my losi micro-t and dt off at the hobby shop for some repairs. I really know nothing yet. I cant even figure out ho to remove the wheels from my 4 wheel drive exceed yet. I probably never will be good with repairs and stuff but the guy at my lhs is an expert at rc cars and stuff. I have been spending alot of my spare time there picking his brain cause the only way I will ever learn this crap is if someone shows me. I probably should leave the traxxas plugs on as I read that they are pretty good. Thanks for the info mamba but i will never be a guy who likes to tinker. Id rather just run my rigs. Maybe some day , if i stick ith it i ill learn to like tinkering on these things. For now I will pay someone so that i can avoid the aggravation of my ignorance. It is no fun hen rc stops running.

That's cool. I understand. We were all beginners at one point. The only reason I suggested Deans is because they are a relatively cheap upgrade, and are the best plugs on the market. There is zero loss when running those plugs, so you get better power transfer, and no heat build up in your connections. It would probably be less than $10 to have your LHS put Deans on everything you have, then you won't need any adapters. :thumb

You know it Randy. Deans are the very first thing I do to every single car, and battery I buy. The only thing I own that doesn't run them is my Blackfoot, and that's just because it's still running the old school MSC so I figure I might as well leave it all original.

It looks like the entire crew agrees with you max. What about the traxxas plug. Apparantly this is a high quality connector from what I have read in various forums. Should I convert that too. Does the vendetta come with deans. I just recieved my Vendetta st from Tower but it has a problem and does not run well. I recieved an unsealed package that looks like the car was taken out and than re wrapped. Im pretty pissed off at Tower right now and m going to contact them to see if they will make it right. Why would they ship me an open product? They shipped me an open product when i paid for brand new. I could have gotten ripped off this way on e-bay for less money. I hope they do the right thing. If not I will return everything from my second order which includes the slash bl, charger and extra battery for the vendetta. The vendetta they sent me is slow , shakey and my cheapo exceed is faster and runs better. This cant be right. I thought the vendetta was supposed to be fairly quick and run smooth. The battery it comes with is only a 7.2v 650mah battery. Why do they include such a crappy battery with no power. Even the exceed came iwth a 7.2v 1100mah battery. Whats the deal with duratrax i thought they were supposed to be an awesome rc brand but than they screw you on the battery. I could be wrong but so far Duratrax kinda sucks. Between the crap battery and the defective vehicle im starting to think i made a mistake with duratrax. I swear the cheapo exceed which i found at raidentech and nitrorx for 90.00 is a better truggy and much cheaper too Whats up with that guys? I might just forget duratrax and stick with exceed.

Tower has an excellent reputation for good customer service. They have been around since the 70's so I'm sure they will make it right. It sounds to me like they sent you a return, and that is unacceptable, and their packers should know better. The Vendetta ST has a reputation for being a very good machine, so the way you describe it running def does not sound right.

I love how the china-cheapo is the thing that's performing best for you. That won't last for long though, the detta will blow it away I'm sure.

From what ive read and heard the detta should be good. I sent it back and am waiting for a new one . In the meantime the chinese cheapy is holding out fine. I ran it hard on a baseball diamond and man was it a blast. I was kicking up roosters and sliding around. The field is in beautiful shape. The dirt is red and fine. I really had to clean my truggy after the run I used canned air and a small paint brush After a run on fine dirt is there any specific maintanence I should perform to keep it running longer.Should i take off the wheels and really clean those balls that attach the wheel . Anything specific to do?

Im waiting ...waiting...waiting for my Vendetta. Unfortunately I will be on vacation for the next 2 weeks so i probably wont be home when she arrives. My wifes cousin is going to check the place out and bring the mail in for me. I did get my traxxas slash bl but that discussion does not belong on this thread. All I can say is its fast and I spent much time upside down. I ill learn in time. Too much speed for me and not enough driving skill yet.You guys have alot of experience between you all. What type of maintanence do you do after a dirty bashing. After runs on the baseball diamand the entire inside is coated with a fine red dust. I have been using canned air and a small paint brush to clean it up. Should I disconnect the wheels to grease up the sockets or anything like that. Is there a good routine to follow to make sure they run good the next time? Should i grease anything.? Ill be back in a week or two. Cant ait to get to the beach. No cars on vacation says the ife so no cars it is although my daughter ants me to bring one.

Sorry to hear ya had a bad experience with tower, they have been great to me. The detta st is a great platform on which to build. out of the box it runs about twenty mph, at least mine did. Yes the battery blows, but for the price of the truck it figures. throw any good quality shot gun pack at it and you'll enjoy the begeesus out of it. Lippo is even more fun. good luck with your new one, and don't give up on the detta, with a little patience and a few mods this is a very capible little racer. As for bashing, I can't tell ya how it will do........ just not my thing.
